Carol Weis is a freelance editor specializing in children’s books, adult fiction and nonfiction, essays, memoir, poetry, ebooks, and various other types of writing and formats.

As a freelance writer, her work has appeared online at The New York Times, The Washington Post, xoJane, Salon, Good Housekeeping, Literary Mama, and The Fix, and has been read as commentary on NPR. She is the author of the Simon & Schuster children’s book, When the Cows Got Loose, and the poetry chapbook, Divorce Papers, released by Bull Thistle Press.

Her work as a freelance editor spans 12 years and includes manuscript critique, copy and line editing, substantive editing, and proofreading. She calls herself a CEE, or Chief Encouraging Editor, as one of her goals is to point out what’s working well with a client’s writing, as well as what isn’t.
